What is our first step?
The first step is to schedule a discovery call. During this 30-minute phone call, we discuss your project aspirations and answer any questions you may have about our services before scheduling an in-home appointment.
What is our working appointment?
We do not offer free in-home visits. Why? Because investing in your home should also mean investing in the right expertise. As we say, you get what you pay for. This is a working appointment where we provide value through our expertise, ideas and dedicated time with you (typically between 1-1.5 hours).
This investment helps set the foundation for a collaborative journey toward creating a space that truly feels like home.
What is the investment for the project?
Every project is unique, and so is the investment required. Based on our years of experience, we conduct a quick “budget-on-the-fly” assessment during the initial meeting for furnishing projects. This allows us to evaluate the scope of work and design requirements and provide you with a realistic budget estimate for your project.
For more complex projects involving construction, we follow an “exploratory phase” approach. This phase allows us to refine the design details & budget more accurately to align with your vision.
We would rather take the time to create a realistic plan before beginning than encounter unexpected financial surprises midway through the project.
How much will our project cost?
That is a big question, right?
The product investment (finishes, furnishings, accessories, etc.) will depend on what you are hoping to achieve. We work within a “good, better, best” framework based on similar projects we have completed and help you decide where to focus your investment.
When it comes to our design fees, we are a flat-fee design firm and our pricing is determined based on the project scope. We consider several factors before finalizing our fees.
We use the Design Starter Appointment to assess the space properly and understand the true scope of your project so we can provide a more accurate quote.
What companies do you work with for trade products & furniture?
We have access to hundreds of high-quality trade vendors for furniture, textiles, lighting, finishes & accessories.
Our wide range of resources allows us to create a home that feels uniquely special and tailored to your needs and aesthetic preferences.
All products are sourced directly through us.
How is the timeline determined?
The timeline for your project is established during the initial planning phase, based on the complexity and scope of the design.
We also consider lead times for materials and furnishings while ensuring all milestones are clearly communicated to keep the process smooth and on schedule.
Should we do everything all at once? How will we know what to prioritize?
We can approach your project in phases or all at once, depending on your preferences and budget.
During the consultation, we help you prioritize the areas of your home that deserve the most attention first, ensuring the biggest impact is created in the spaces that matter most to you.
Why hire an interior designer when I already have an architect?
Hiring an interior designer before construction begins allows us to step in while architectural decisions are still flexible.
An architect focuses on the structure of the space – while we focus on how the space looks, feels and functions for your lifestyle.
How involved will I need to be during the design or construction phase?
Your level of involvement during the construction or installation phase can vary based on your preferences & availability.
As your interior designer, we can oversee the design execution on your behalf. However, if you prefer a more hands-on approach – you are always welcome to participate & provide input at various stages of the process as well.
Can you integrate my favorite furniture pieces or antiques into the design?
We always aim to create a cohesive space by blending your existing favorite pieces with new selections we bring into the design. Our goal is to make you love those favourite pieces even more by enhancing them with the right design elements while creating a beautifully “curated-over-time” aesthetic.
